Smelling the flowers

I'm a bit exhausted right now, started the new job Monday and put in 10-12 hour days, didn't even really notice how tired I was until my first day off (today). I was so happy that I got to sleep in, unfortunately I was awake by 9am doesn't really feel like sleeping in to me, but I'll take what I can get. The job is fun and interesting, since I have no real prior experience with plant identification I'm learning a ton, always a good thing. Basically we run around to different fields and figure how much of the plant life is eatable to critters (cattle, horses, etc.) per acre, do some funky math, and calculate how many acres would sustain one critter for one month. That I'm sure sounds boring but being outside playing in fields of mostly green, beats the hell out of an office gig, I can tan and get paid for it.

There's a lot more going on with me, but nothing I'm sharing at the moment.

Have a good one!

Sanity by a thin string

So here I am, finally back to write a real entry.

I still haven't fallen off the earth, been abducted, or run away to a tropical island, but it is good to know there are PC's in other realms... wish I would have know that sooner!

What has been happening with me... well a lot. As it turns out good, bad, and worse news showed up around this house within a few days of each other, so I have been trying to deal with it all, needless to say my head is still spinning. My mind sounds like two freight trains slamming into each other and I can't seem to calm the noise any, which had of course put me in "a mood" and has turned me into a raging bitch. Not good.

Since I'm not ready to go into the bad and worse news, the good news was a new job. It's fieldwork on the reservations around here, something about plants, grasses, and how many cattle will fit on a field. Yeah, I know I should know more about what I will be doing, but hey, it's something new and interesting. It'll will be good to get outside even if I a bit crispy around the edges; I can certainly use the sun.

On the "humorous but OH SHIT" front, yesterday I was vegin' in the house when I heard a sound that sounded like a slow impact car accident (yes, I know very well what that sounds like), I went outside, around the corner of the house, and saw something that made me want to laugh hysterically but also made me think "oh shit" and "it wasn't me!". There was my Dad standing in front of the shed examining the damage that a landscaping timber, he was hauling, had done to the shed door when he backed the truck up. He didn't do too much damage and it took the two of us, crowbar, and a large rubber mallet (good temporary stress relief BTW) about twenty minutes to get the door back on its track and pound out the dents. Amazingly it looks almost like it did before, there's just a small (one inch) section where you can see where the metal creased.

Side note: Normally I would not have found this funny, but I'll take comic relief where I can find it right now.

Have a good one!

Quick note

So I haven't fallen off the earth just yet, work has been keeping me busy along with other things.

Will post more later.

Have a good one!
